What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is by 10am. It's self check-in via a Yale smart lock — we'll email you a door code ahead of arrival, so you can let yourself in any time after 3pm without needing to meet anyone. Same-day bookings are accepted up until 11pm.

Is parking included?

Yes — free on-site parking right in front of your unit. If you have visitors, please ask them to park in the carpark across the road.

Do you allow pets?

No, sorry — pets aren't permitted at Sun Valley Motel.

What's your cancellation policy?

Full payment is taken at the time of booking. Cancel one or more days before arrival and we'll refund 90%; cancellations inside 24 hours of arrival are non-refundable. A NZ$200 security deposit is authorised (not charged) on your card at booking, and released automatically after checkout if there's no damage.

Do you offer rates for contractors or crews working on the Warkworth to Te Hana project?

Yes — we regularly host contractor crews working on nearby infrastructure projects and can offer corporate and long-stay rates. Get in touch and we'll put a quote together.

How close is Sun Valley Motel to the Warkworth–Te Hana motorway works?

Wellsford sits directly on SH1 between Warkworth and Te Hana, so we're close to the project corridor with easy highway access.

Is WiFi included?

Yes — every unit has free high-speed fibre wifi, tested at around 413 Mbps, included in your stay.

Do the units have kitchens?

It depends on the unit. Our two studio units have a kitchenette with tea and coffee making facilities; our one- and two-bedroom units have a kitchenette with basic cooking facilities; and the four-bedroom house has a full kitchen with an oven, stove, fridge and a large dining area.

How many people can each unit sleep?

We have two studios (2 guests each), five one-bedroom units (3 guests each), one two-bedroom unit (5 guests) and a four-bedroom house (11 guests) — so we can accommodate anything from a solo traveller to a large group or family in one booking.

Is there air conditioning and heating?

Yes, every unit has air conditioning and general heating.

What's nearby?

Wellsford's cafes and shops are within walking distance, and we're well placed for exploring further afield — Te Arai Links and Wellsford Golf Club for golf, Gibbs Farm, Matakana Markets and Cinemas, and surf beaches including Te Arai, Mangawhai Heads, Omaha and Tāwharanui, all within a 30–40 minute drive.
